All mentees are expected to be disciplined. That means that you are expected to do things on time when asked by your mentor. For example, if your mentor asked you to do something by Friday at 3 PM, turning it in the following Friday is not being disciplined, unless, of course, the two of you have discussed a different time frame.
You are expected to be respectful, particularly in response to other’s time. For example, if your mentor asked you to be ready to meet at 2 PM and you leave them waiting until 2:30 PM, that is not being respectful of their time.
You are expected to follow up with your mentor. That means that as they begin to ask you to do different tasks, you will need to follow up with him to make sure that you may understand what’s being asked, and be that you understand the timeframe in which it needs to be done.
You are expected to refrain from being distracted when interacting with your mentor. That means that while you’re talking to your mentor, you should be on the phone scrolling, or doing three or four other tasks that take your attention away from what he or she is saying. Give them your full attention.
