During my first few years in the classroom, having a mentor with key to helping me to succeed on the job. And I bet that if you look back on your first few years in the classroom, having a lead teacher to take you under their wing, whether formally or informally, probably made a big difference in your career in the classroom as well.
A mentor can be the difference between a new teacher giving up on the dream that God has placed in their heart, and the decision to stick it out until things begin to get better.
