Having a mentor can be the difference between struggling to figure things out on your own and having someone to help you skip over the tricky parts of the learning curve so that you can get adjusted to the classroom even quicker. Mentors can be THE difference for a new teacher. (And when I say a “new teacher”, I mean someone that has been a full-time teaching lead for 3 years or less.). Around here, we like to call these folks “newbies!” So WELCOME… and yeah, get you a MENTOR!
