Hunger no More™ is an organization established as a missions’ arm of Blessed Newbie. During the school year, food insecurity is not as much of an issue among students, since they can take advantage of free meals (breakfast and lunch) offered at their schools. However, during the summer months when schools are normally closed, food insecurity among students rises exponentially.  At the same time, food waste in the United States is at an all -time high.  Feeding America.org estimates that over 108 billion pounds of food are thrown out in the U.S. each year. That’s 108 BILLION – with a ‘B’ – pounds of food going to waste.

Now picture this – food is being thrown out in record numbers in our country – at the same time that our nations’ children are often going hungry or are malnourished. Make it make sense! Our food pantry aims to solve this dilemma by partnering with local entities to make use of fruits and vegetables and other items that would otherwise go to waste, are put to good use, to help feed students in need.  This effort will enable us where we can help to bridge the gap in kids’ nutrition as well as redistribute resources to kids who would otherwise go hungry. The concept of redistributing resources and giving to others in need, so that no one lacks resources as a result of the giving (i.e. food) is in line with Acts 4:34.

While we plan to start our missions’ work in the state of Georgia, we have plans to expand the summer food pantry for kids to a nationwide effort, with a summer food pantry operated in each U.S. state. As we expand our outreach efforts, we also hope to create mobile food pantries to begin distributing food directly to students in need.
